We are a training centre and form part of the UK's first intergenerational 'Outstanding' pre-school and nursery, Apples and Honey Nightingale.

AHN Education and Training intergenerational courses are designed to provide learners with a journey from a basic introduction through to in-depth knowledge and application of the theory of intergenerational practice.

Our qualification is accredited by CACHE and designed to support those who are interested in the concept of intergenerational work.

All of our courses meet Guided Learning Hours (GLH) set by CACHE and are delivered through weekly live online training in daytime or evening sessions. Full support is offered throughout the qualification via your dedicated tutor.

Level 3 Award in Intergenerational Care and Education (CACHE accredited) 90 GLH

 

The Award consists of one unit:

Unit 1- Understanding the principles and processes of intergenerational work

This provides the basic understanding of the definitions, processes and general concepts of intergenerational work necessary to bring different generations together and to relationships between them.

Level 3 Certificate in Intergenerational Care and Education (CACHE accredited) 180 GLH

The Certificate is a two unit course, it includes:

Unit 1- Understanding the principles and processes of intergenerational work

Unit 2 – Observation and reflection of intergenerational work.

 

 
 
The Level 3 Diploma in Intergenerational Care and Education (CACHE accredited) 550 GLH

 

This Diploma forms a comprehensive qualification in Intergenerational Care and comprises of 7 units. Learners choose to complete Unit 3 or 4 rather than both. The full Diploma incorporates Unit 1 and 2 from the Award and Certificate.

Unit 1 – Understanding the principles and processes of intergenerational work.

Unit 2 – Observation and reflection of Intergenerational work

Unit 3 – Understanding dementia and other age-related conditions

Unit 4 – Understanding child development and the government statutory guidance for schools

Unit 5 – Understanding and assessing the risks of Intergenerational work including health and safety, infection control and safeguarding

Unit 6 – Effective Intergenerational Practice: Observation, Assessment, Planning and Evaluation

Unit 7 – Volunteers and Teamwork: Developing an understanding in cooperative strategies when working together in intergenerational settings.

Unit 8 – Developing, delivering and evaluating a differentiated, purposeful, relationship-based intergenerational programme appropriate for various needs and abilities with a team of practitioners and volunteers.
